Happy 2022, Friends!
We’ve made it through another year, and if you’re anything like me, 2021 was quite the doozy. You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t posted in a hot minute. My mental health hasn’t been great, and when I’m in that spot, it feels inauthentic to me to post on Instagram and my blog, especially posting affirmations that I’m struggling to practice or encouraging others to take care of their mental health when I’m struggling in this way.
But I had a really good conversation with my therapist, where she brought up the idea that maybe that’s when I most need to be working on my passions, working on the things I love, when I don’t believe it. And that maybe because I’m saying it in writing, it makes me believe it more.
I also lost focus of why I may some decisions, and what I want to do. I forgot that I took a job because I thought that it would allow me to focus more on myself and my mental health, and instead burnt myself out and had no energy for photoshoots, or blogging, or anything else that brought me joy. Instead of my job being a way to support myself and my life and my passions, work was my first, and honestly only priority.
My purpose and goals all revolved around work, and it became incredibly draining and saddening.
So, I decided that with the beginning of the new year, I’m gonna focus on my blog and social media and writing again. It really is the thing that I want to do with my life, and I want to focus my energy on that.
So, without further ado, here are the first weekly affirmations of 2022! I’m so hopeful for this New Year, and I hope you are too.

- I am grateful for the lessons I have learned throughout my life.
- My worth is not defined by my productivity.
- I don’t have to love my body to have respect for it.
- I choose to have a happy and fulfilling life.
- I have faith in the person I am becoming.
- I approach obstacles fearlessly.
